What is GlobalGAP ?

GlobalGAP is a private sector body that sets voluntary standards for the certification of agricultural products around the world. It is focused on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and aims to promote sustainability, safety, and quality in agricultural production.

GlobalGAP standards cover a wide range of topics, including food safety, animal welfare, plant health, environmental protection, and worker health and safety. These standards are designed to be applicable to a wide range of agricultural products, including fruits, vegetables, grains, livestock, and aquaculture.

To become GlobalGAP certified, farmers, producers, and processors must undergo an assessment by an independent certification body to ensure that they are meeting the GlobalGAP standards. Once certified, they can use the GlobalGAP logo on their products to show that they meet these standards.

GlobalGAP is recognized as a leading standard in the agriculture industry and is widely used by retailers, food service companies, and other stakeholders to ensure the sustainability and safety of their agricultural supply chains.
